Chennai: M. K. stalin, chief minister of tamil Nadu, inaugurated a modern air-conditioned bus shelter constructed at a cost of ₹1.6 crore in Kolathur, Chennai.

Modern Facility to Enhance Passenger Comfort

The newly opened AC bus shelter in Kolathur, one of the key residential constituencies in Chennai, has been designed to provide enhanced comfort and convenience to commuters. Equipped with air-conditioning, seating arrangements, proper lighting, and other passenger-friendly amenities, the facility aims to improve the overall public transport experience.

Officials stated that the project was undertaken to ensure that people waiting for buses, especially during peak summer months, are protected from extreme heat and harsh weather conditions.

Investment in Urban Infrastructure

The ₹1.6 crore project reflects the tamil Nadu government’s focus on strengthening urban infrastructure and upgrading public amenities. The chief minister highlighted that such initiatives are part of a broader effort to modernize transport-related infrastructure across the state.
