Rajasthan: History-Sheeter Mahesh gurjar Shot Dead in Alwar

A shocking incident occurred in the Bansur area of Alwar district, Rajasthan, where history-sheeter Mahesh gurjar died during treatment after being shot.

Mahesh gurjar, a resident of Mughalpur village in the Harsaura police station area, was sitting in a field with his relative Chetan alias Kali and a couple of friends late Wednesday night.

According to preliminary police investigation, Chetan’s weapon accidentally fired, and the bullet struck Mahesh gurjar in the stomach around 11 p.m., causing him to collapse and bleed profusely.

The injured Mahesh was initially rushed to Bansur Hospital in critical condition. He was then referred to Kotputli for advanced treatment and later sent to NIMS Hospital in Jaipur, where he died during treatment on thursday evening.

Police confirmed that Mahesh gurjar was a notorious criminal with 22 registered cases across various police stations, making him an active history-sheeter in the region.

DSP Megha Goyal stated that while the case is currently being reported as an accidental shooting, the police are investigating all angles to determine if there is any old rivalry or conspiracy involved.

Authorities are questioning everyone present at the scene and taking statements from witnesses to reconstruct the events of that night.

The police have taken custody of Mahesh’s body, which is currently in the mortuary. A post-mortem is scheduled for friday morning, after which the body will be handed over to the family.

A search is underway for absconding or suspected individuals, and further legal action is being taken as part of the ongoing investigation.

The incident has sparked panic among locals in Alwar, as Mahesh gurjar was a well-known figure in criminal circles, raising concerns about safety and accidental shootings in the area.

Authorities are emphasizing that the investigation will clarify whether the shooting was truly accidental or involved foul play, ensuring justice and public safety in the region.

Police continue to investigate every aspect of the incident, including weapon ownership, possible prior disputes, and the sequence of events leading to the shooting, to reach a conclusive report.
