Tamil Nadu chief minister M. K. Stalin has written to prime minister Narendra Modi requesting approval and financial assistance from the Union government for the third phase of the Hogenakkal Combined Drinking Water Project.

Request for Central Approval

In his letter, the chief minister urged the prime minister to grant the necessary approval and provide financial support for the expansion of the project. The scheme aims to strengthen drinking water supply infrastructure and ensure that people in rural areas receive adequate and reliable drinking water.

About the Hogenakkal Combined Drinking Water Project

The project sources water from Hogenakkal Falls, located on the Cauvery River. It was designed to supply treated drinking water to several districts facing water scarcity.

The new phase of the project is expected to expand the distribution network and improve water availability in additional rural and urban areas.
