Daredevil Season 2 Is Straight-Up Better Than Season 1 And Half the Fans Still Ghosted It

SIBY JEYYA
Oh, the sweet, delicious irony. Marvel finally delivers a Daredevil season that critics are calling the best in the entire franchise — 90% on Rotten Tomatoes, three points higher than Season 1, with episode 4 holding the highest IMDb rating of any MCU Disney+ episode ever.

And what do fans do? They vanish faster than Netflix did in 2018. Viewership? Down 46%. watch time? Down a brutal 54%. Season 1 pulled 8.35 million views and 24 million hours. Season 2? A pathetic 4.5 million views and 10.8 million hours. Congrats, Marvel — you fixed the show and killed the audience.

- **Nostalgia was the only thing keeping it alive.** Season 1 was a six-year reunion party. people crawled back just to see Daredevil and Kingpin throw hands again. That curiosity factor? Massive. Season 2? Just another tuesday in the MCU. No hype, no event energy.

- **Marketing? What marketing?** One trailer. Barely any push. Disney dropped the ball harder than a drunk Foggy Nelson. Casual fans took one look and decided the “homework” wasn’t worth it.

- **MCU fatigue is real, and it’s vicious.** After years of weekly releases and interconnected slop, people are exhausted. Season 2 feels like Season 5 of a show nobody asked to continue this long.

- **The cruelest twist.** The better-reviewed season is bleeding viewers. Quality finally showed up… and the audience had already moved on to TikTok.

This is peak Disney+ era comedy. They spent years ruining the Netflix magic, then fixed it — and still got punished. The numbers don’t lie: fans didn’t want a better Daredevil. They wanted the *event*. And once the reunion glow faded, they bounced. Ouch.
