India's top corporate group adani Group and Piramal Healthcare have joined the race to buy HLL Lifecare Limited, a pharmaceutical company in the government sector.
However, the country's largest contract research firm Akums drugs and Pharmaceuticals is also included in this list of bidders. HLL is also known for its most popular condom brand, Moods Condom, in addition to birth control brands and drugs.
When was the bidding for HLL started?On december 14, the Department of Investment and Public Asset Management (DIPAM) released the notification for the initial bids for the sale of 100% government participation in a central public sector enterprise (CPSE). Regarding this matter, DIPAM secretary Tuhin Kanta Pandey posted on march 14 and said that “Many expressions of interest have been received for the privatization of HLL Lifecare Limited (HLL). After that, the transaction has moved to the next phase.”
Top names include adani Group, Piramal Healthcare, and Akums india are in the race to buy the HLL. At the same time, the other three companies involved in this race are from South India.
