airtel, the only company capable of competing against
akash Ambani's
reliance Jio in the
indian telecom market, has given investors a pleasant surprise by posting higher profits in the
june quarter. While all telecom operators are busy on the
5g service launch, Bharti
airtel has surprised investors by announcing its quality quarterly results.
Bharti
airtel has reported around 467 percent higher consolidated net profit for the quarter ended
june 30 than last year. With this, Airtel's profit in the
june quarter rose to Rs 1,607 crore. Similarly, the profit fell by 20 percent compared to the
march quarter.
Also, Airtel's consolidated revenue increased by 22 percent to Rs 32,805 crore in the
june quarter. This is an increase of 4 percent compared to the
march quarter. Bharti Airtel's
customer growth and average revenue per
customer increased in the
june quarter. The development has come after Telecom has upgraded its
services several times, so confidence among investors has increased in the company.
Bharti Airtel's
india business alone generated revenue of around Rs 23,319 crore, especially from
mobile services, which saw a growth of 27.4 percent. Similarly, Airtel's revenue from other businesses rose to 15.2 percent. Also, Airtel's
customer base has increased by 41.9 percent to 36.2 crore telecom
customers, and has become the second largest telecom company in India.
Bharti Airtel's Africa
business revenue posted a year-on-year rise of 15.3 percent in constant
currency terms. Bharti
airtel has around 13.16 crore
customers in Africa.
