🍩 German Chocolate Cake Donuts

These moist, chocolatey donuts are inspired by the classic German chocolate Cake, topped with a sweet coconut-pecan glaze. Perfect for breakfast, brunch, or dessert!

Ingredients (Makes 8–10 Donuts)

For the Donuts

· All-purpose flour: 1½ cups

· Cocoa powder: ¼ cup (unsweetened)

· Baking powder: 2 tsp

· Baking soda: ½ tsp

· Salt: ½ tsp

· Sugar: ½ cup

· Milk (or oat milk): ½ cup

· Egg: 1 large

· Melted butter or coconut oil: 3 tbsp

· Vanilla extract: 1 tsp

For the Coconut-Pecan Glaze

· Shredded coconut: ½ cup

· Chopped pecans: ¼ cup

· Sweetened condensed milk: ¼ cup

· Butter: 2 tbsp

Step 1: Preheat & Prep

· Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

· Grease a doughnut pan or line with silicone molds.

Step 2: Make the Donut Batter

1. In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and sugar.

2. In another bowl, combine milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla.

3. Slowly fold wet ingredients into dry ingredients until smooth (don’t overmix).

Step 3: Bake the Donuts

· Spoon batter into greased doughnut molds, filling ¾ full.

· Bake for 12–15 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

· Let donuts cool slightly before glazing.

Step 4: Make the Coconut-Pecan Glaze

1. In a small pan, melt butter over low heat.

2. Stir in sweetened condensed milk, coconut, and pecans. Cook for 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened.

3. Spoon the glaze over warm donuts.

Step 5: Serve

· Let the glaze set for a few minutes.

· Enjoy warm, moist donuts with a rich, nutty topping.

1. Do not overmix the batter; overmixing makes donuts dense.

2. For extra flavor, add a pinch of cinnamon or espresso powder to the batter.

3. Let donuts cool slightly before glazing to prevent melting and runny topping.
