20 Glorious Years of TRS and The Golden Journey of Telangana
The dry lakes of telangana are now overflowing and the state never data-faced any power interruptions for more than 6 years. The per capita income of the people of telangana has doubled in six years, the second-highest in the country, and the unemployment rate is among the lowest in the country. The Golden era of telangana is bringing smiles to the people. All thanks to the founding father K Chandrasekara Rao. In 2011, the chief minister of andhra pradesh, chandrababu naidu was against the state of telangana and he banished the word from the secretariat and the Assembly.
The separate state of telangana was a distant dream for everyone. On april 27, 2001, a new political party, telangana Rashtra Samit was launched in Hyderabad. kcr was the founder of the party and he addressed a small group of people just like an ordinary telangana man. He announced the party has a single-point agenda and that is achieving the separate state of Telangana. At that stage, it looked barely possible to achieve a separate state as the central government was led by nda, and tdp in the state was led by chandrababu naidu who was completely against the formation of Telangana.
KCR revolutionized in the next 14 years and it is more of a people's movement in india and he used several strategies. First, he created a deep-rooted mass movement and employed the slogan of BR Ambedkar's "Educate, Agitate, Organize". He organized several rallies and he educated people how a separate state telangana would bring a positive transformation to each one of them. Soon, the demand for telangana became a mainstream opinion in the region. kcr was clear in his vision and he also understood history that violence would result in loss of lives. He was careful in making a decision at that stage.
KCR took inspiration from mahatma and he decided to make this movement a peaceful and non-violent movement. Also, kcr believed the solution to this was a political one and only politics can be used to bring a solution. trs won local body, assembly, and parliament elections with a huge majority. The congress party which noticed the sudden growth joined with trs in the 2004 elections and they also demanded separate statehood. kcr also understood he needed support from various political parties to get the parliament vote in favor of Telangana. So he took a car rally in delhi to spread awareness and sympathy for the telangana cause.
He won the support of many political parties and their leaders onto his side. There is also constant opposition from various quarters. The media targeted kcr and mocked him for his telangana dialects and dietary habits. The only support kcr had was the support of the telangana people who had huge faith in his vision and goals. After several years of struggle, on june 2, 2014, the new state of telangana was formed and it all happened due to the sheer willpower of one man KCR.
His administration qualities are unparalleled. He has designed several schemes such as Mission Bhagiratha, Mission Kakatiya, Haritha Haram. Like Ambedkar, he created revolutionary welfare schemes for the needy such as Rythu Bima and Rythu Bandhu. The farmer suicides are no longer in the state. The people of telangana are now confident about their future. Today, we celebrate the 20th anniversary of the trs party and we need to remember all the party members for their sacrifices, commitment, efforts, and willpower in building this state.
