TS High Court: tightens grip on TS govt!
During the last hearing, the telangana high court asked for the state administration plans for processions and idol immersions during Ganesh Chaturthi. The state was given six days to express its position by a bench of Chief Justice Hima kohli and Justice B Vijyasen Reddy. While hearing a plea submitted by attorney Mamidi Venumadhav, the bench observed, "Keep in mind, the epidemic is not yet done."
“While the high court has previously issued judgments instructing the state to maintain Hussainsagar and other lakes free of idol immersions,” the petitioner said, “authorities never took them (the court's orders) seriously.”
