Fake challan: Why not CID but only police investigation?
Rajat Bhargav, Revenue Department's Special Principal Secretary: The Challans affair is the subject of a departmental investigation. We looked over 65 lakh records and discovered that roughly 5 crores had been stolen. We've also filed ten criminal cases so far. In the remaining 9 districts, there are greater incidences in krishna and Kadapa. So far, 1.37 crores, or 25% of the total, have been collected. In terms of austerity, there is no lag. We've decided to use counselling to promote sub-registrars.
Six Sub-Registrars have been suspended. A total of ten people are facing charges. There are big scams in 770 documents. The krishna district Mandavalli office was the scene of most of the fraud. If the challans did not clear the way for the purchase, or if it was the officials' fault, it will be revealed. Purchasers will be held responsible as well. It is not necessary to conduct a CID investigation; a police case is sufficient.
Enraged by the phoney challans fraud in the stamps and registration department, jagan Mohan reddy ordered officials to undertake a comprehensive inquiry into the racket and bring the perpetrators to justice. According to reports, reddy met with officials from the department on friday to get firsthand information on the scam. He asked for actions to be taken to recoup the funds from all individuals involved in the scheme.
