Thousands of Afghans are fleeing the nation to avoid Taliban persecution, and a group of women have staged the country's first public demonstration seeking their rights.
Four Afghan women were seen holding handmade paper placards on a roadway in Kabul while surrounded by Taliban gunmen in a video published on twitter by Iranian journalist Masih Alinejad.
Women could be heard demanding their rights, which included social security, the right to work, the right to education, and the right to vote.
"All of our accomplishments throughout the years, as well as our basic rights," the ladies were heard stating in the video.
