Why PM Modi is releasing 125 rupee coin?


The international Society for krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), often known as the 'Hare krishna movement,' was formed by Prabhupada. In 89 languages, ISKCON has translated the Shrimad Bhagavad Geeta and other Vedic literature. In addition, the founder founded over a hundred temples and authored many publications. prime minister Narendra Modi issued a unique commemorative coin worth Rs 125 through video conferencing on the 125th birth anniversary of Srila Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupsada.

“Today we are commemorating the 125th birth anniversary of Srila Prabhupada,” PM Modi remarked as he handed over the currency. It's as though the pleasures of meditation/devotion and contentment have merged. Millions of Srila Prabhupada Swami's followers and krishna devotees throughout the world are experiencing this emotion right now.”

The prime minister praised the religious organisation for its efforts and services, saying it has served as a brand ambassador for indian traditions and values.
He praised ISKCON for its assistance to people amid different crises, including the COVID-19 epidemic, and added that religion implies fire, energy, and confidence in mankind for India.

Modi added that Prabhupada was not just a great devotee of Lord krishna but also a great lover of India, citing his involvement in the independence cause. G Kishan Reddy, the Union minister for Culture, was also present.
On the 125th anniversary of Prabhupada's birth, West bengal Chief minister Mamata Banerjee also unveiled his "lotus feet."
