IAF Officer's Brutality: Raped Colleague!
A Mahila court on monday prolonged the detention of an IAF flight commander who was detained by coimbatore Police for reportedly raping a female officer on Sept 30. On monday, the accused IAF officer was brought before an Additional Mahila Council after being detained on sunday and being held in the Udumalaipet sub-jail for a day. The IAF has petitioned the court to take up the issue and investigate it. According to IAF authorities, the event occurred on the grounds of the air Force College.
Officials stated that because the alleged officer, as well as the victim, had both in the service, they could not be detained and tried under civilian law. The IAF assured the court that action will be initiated upon the convicted officer under the air Force Act. The All women Police, who detained the guilty officer, protested to the IAF's appeal, claiming that the air Force did not act in accordance with the complainant's instructions.
As per the female officer's accusation, she injured her leg during her basketball game and on Sept 10 as well as took painkillers prior to going bed. The woman officer said she understood she had been assaulted when she awoke in the night and found the alleged officer laying next to her. The woman officer further said that after raising a report with high officials, no action was done against the accused.
