Game of Friendship and Enmity..! india in Trouble..!?
The impact of Russia-Ukraine tensions is visible around the world. Stock markets are collapsing one by one, and crude oil prices are rising. Gas prices are also likely to rise. Despite all this, india has not yet responded to Russia. The government of india has appealed to all parties to exercise restraint. There are many reasons behind this attitude. Although russia emerged as a superpower once again after the war, it was an old loyal friend to India. But india is concerned about the Russia-China alliance.
China seems to have fully sided with russia during the ukraine conflict. For the past two years, china has been known to trouble india over the data-border dispute in the LAC, which data-borders eastern Ladakh. india was absent during the voting against russia in the United Nations Security Council. But india is still not in favor of russia or NATO-backed ukraine, including the United States. india is opposed to war. At the United Nations, china is one of only three countries abstaining from voting against russia, apart from India. The third country is the United Arab Emirates (UAE). But China's public support for russia has brought a new headache for India. However, in this game of friendship and enmity, there is concern that india will be torn somewhere. Political analysts expect the trouble to escalate as Pakistani prime minister Imran Khan was also in moscow on the day of Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
India may have signed a ceasefire agreement with pakistan last year for peace on the Line of Control, but pakistan has never given up its nature. Therefore, india is also closely watching the rapidly changing global conditions. The indian Foreign Secretary was also serious about the global tensions arising due to the ukraine war. He responded that the conditions for political mobilization between nations have changed. Global tensions have risen.
If this is the case, then india is in the 60s, when russia and the united states were embroiled in a Cuban missile dispute and china invaded india and snatched the Aksai Chin. The same conditions are repeated today. This is because the Chinese PLA army has been camping once again for the past two years in the LAC, which data-borders eastern Ladakh. The Chinese data-border on the other side of eastern Ladakh is believed to have a large number of tanks, artillery, missiles, and warplanes, including more than 50,000 Chinese troops. This is the reason why india is deploying 50,000 troops, weapons, and other military equipment on par with China.
Is india the reason for this attitude? In the ongoing tensions between russia and ukraine at present, the main reason why india does not take any side is the good relations between the two countries. Defense ties between ukraine and pakistan are also very strong. ukraine supplies T 80D tanks to Pakistan. In response, india had to move pieces quickly to get T90 tanks from Russia. A former army officer has been appointed Pakistan's ambassador to ukraine for the past decade. The friendship between pakistan and ukraine has been strengthened.
Pakistan hopes to buy 300 T90 tanks from russia in 2018. But it refused. Then in 2019, india gave the green signal for the purchase of these tanks. Unable to buy arms from pakistan, pakistan turned to Ukraine. On the other hand, economic relations between china and ukraine have also strengthened since 2014. But politically it seems to be standing with Russia. However, india has in a way agreed to Russia's demand for security guarantees for NATO, citing the security interests of all countries at the United Nations. russia plays an important role in supplying defense hardware to India. india does not want such a move to bring moscow and beijing closer to each other.
