History about fashion shows...


It is a different experience to see beautiful models flaunting their performances on the ramp. Today the big business of fashion shows is based on tv series to beauty pageants. Do you know what is their history?


The first fashion show took place in the nineteenth century-

Yes, the history of fashion shows is so old. For the first time, english fashion designer Charles Frederick came up with this idea. He started showcasing his made clothes through models. For the first time, living people were seen as models. Earlier mannequins were used for the display of clothes. It was named the fashion Parade. By the turn of the century, fashion parades started taking place in london and New York.


The idea of conducting fashion shows using live people reached from london to New York. Although at that time such shows used to be small and most of the fashion shows used to be held in individual events only.


It was expanded after World war 2:

The world of fashion took a different expansion after the Second World War. In 1947, designer Christian Dior did a show in paris with girls wearing skinny skirts. This show brought a new look of femininity. It was also seen as an escape from the agony of World war I.
