Earthquake: gujarat shook 400 times in 2 years?...

Earthquake tremors have been felt twice in the last 24 hours in Amreli, Gujarat. Although their intensity on the Richter scale was not much, it was only 3.4 and 3.1. This is the reason why there was no loss of life or property due to this earthquake. Let us tell you that in the last 2 years in Amreli district, there was a flurry of earthquakes one after the other and light tremors were recorded here about 400 times. Seismologists are describing this situation as 'earthquake swarm'.

Sequences of mostly small aftershocks known as earthquake swarms frequently last only a few seconds but can last for several days.

The inhabitants of Amreli's Mitiala village began sleeping outside their homes as a precaution to prevent any untoward incidents brought on by a significant earthquake. The majority of the villagers, including the sarpanch, have begun spending the nights sleeping outside their homes, according to Mohammad Rathod, a resident of Mitiala, because of their fear of tremors.

Explaining the reason for the 'earthquake swarm' in Amreli district located in Saurashtra region, Gandhinagar-based Institute of Seismological Research (ISR) director General Sumer Chopra said that the reason for seasonal seismic activity is 'tectonic order' and hydraulic load. The residents of Amreli's Savarkundla and Khamba talukas are concerned after four tremors of magnitude 3.1 to 3.4 were reported there in the 48 hours starting on february 23.
