World red Cross and red Crescent Day - Help eachother!!

The international red Cross and red Crescent Movement has a day set aside to honour its uniqueness and unity, which happens on May 8. This day is known as World red Cross and red Crescent Day. On World red Cross and red Crescent Day, the spirit of humanitarianism is commemorated, and individuals who have a positive impact on their communities are recognised.

Everything we do comes from the heart is the theme for this year. We wish to honour "the person next door"—the members of our neighbourhoods who frequently are the first to offer assistance to those in need nearby. They may be a coworker, a local company owner, a red Cross or red Crescent volunteer, anyone we encounter at the gym, store, or market we frequently visit, or a neighbour who has always supported us. They support us in any way they decide, and they do it out of love and honesty.

History:

After the First globe War, at the 14th international Meeting of the red Cross, the concept for a "annual movement that might hold in the entire world... that would be a major contribution to peace" was explored. This is when World red Cross and red Crescent Day was born. Because Henry Dunant, the man who founded the international Committee of the red Cross, was born on May 8, that date was ultimately selected.

On May 8, 1948, the inaugural "International red Cross Day," as it was formerly known, was observed. In 1984, the day's official name, which had evolved over time, was altered to "World red Cross and red Crescent Day." The occasion to honour our worldwide network of red Cross and red Crescent volunteers, to reaffirm our everlasting dedication to a shared humanity, and to pause and consider our Fundamental Principles is today.
