The school education department has ordered permission to conduct physical education classes for students in grades 6 through 9.

Corona has been banned from conducting physical education classes for the past two years. In this situation, corona infection has decreased in tamil Nadu. One day corona exposure has been reported below 100 for the past one week. And corona mortality continues to be zero. This is the lowest number of corona infections reported in the last 2 years.


Due to the corona epidemic in tamil Nadu, direct classes in schools were banned and lessons were conducted online. Also the general examination for 10th and 12th class students was canceled and all were made alphas. As the 2nd wave of corona began to subside, schools were reopened to all students from 1st to 12th class in november last year.


Due to the third wave of corona in January, schools were closed again and classes were taken online. Later, corona exposure gradually began to decline. The daily impact has dropped from less than 100 to over 30,000 recorded. Thus all of the corona curfew restrictions have been relaxed. Also, from february 1, schools for Kindergarten, Nursery, 1st to 12th class are open and live classes are being conducted.


Also, the timetable for the general examination for 10th and 12th class students has been released. In this situation, the Department of school education did not give permission to conduct physical education classes in schools due to fear of the spread of infection. The Department of school education has given permission to conduct physical education classes for classes 6, 7, 8 and 9 at present, following requests from various quarters to conduct physical education classes.



10th, 11th and 12th class students are not allowed to conduct physical education classes due to public examinations. Commissioner of school education nandakumar has sent a circular to all district Primary education Officers in this regard. It has been ordered to conduct physical education classes following the relevant guidelines for the class which has been given permission to conduct physical education classes.
