The Parliamentary business Language Committee met on april 7 in the capital, New Delhi. Speaking on the occasion, Union home minister amit shah said that all the northeastern states have agreed to make hindi compulsory in schools up to the 10th standard. In this context, the North east Students' Organization has strongly objected that the move to make india compulsory up to the 10th standard would disrupt harmony.
The North east Students' Organization (NASO), a federation of 8 student unions, has expressed its strong opposition in a letter to home minister amit Shah. The letter was signed by the chairman of the organization, and Sinam Prakash Singh, general secretary. According to a NASO letter to Union home minister, amit shah read that this unfavorable policy of incompatibility must be withdrawn immediately. This action will be detrimental to the native languages and will disrupt unity.
They recommend that hindi be the only optional subject except that native languages should be compulsory in the native states up to the 10th standard. Understandably, 40-43 percent of indians are native speakers of India. But at the same time, there are plenty of other languages in the country. They are prosperous, prosperous, and vibrant from their own perspective.
That is what gives india the image of a multilingual and multilingual nation. Instead of such measures, the central government may focus on measures to further promote the indigenous languages of the North east, such as incorporating Article 8 of the Constitution of india into additional programs for the development and advancement of the North East.
