The
Jharkhand government is preparing to introduce a new financial support initiative for women associated with the state’s flagship welfare programme, the
Mukhyamantri maiya Samman Yojana. Under this plan, eligible women beneficiaries will be able to receive a
loan of up to ₹20,000 directly into their bank accounts without any requirement for guarantors, aimed at boosting economic self‑reliance and employment opportunities.
What Is the New Support Measure? The state government has proposed that women enrolled under the maiya Samman Yojana — which already provides monthly financial assistance — will now have access to a
micro‑loan of up to ₹20,000. The key features of this support include:
- 💸 No collateral or guarantor needed — Loans will be disbursed without requiring any security from the beneficiary.
- 👩💼 Aimed at women entrepreneurs — The objective is to help women start small businesses, create self‑employment opportunities, and generate sustainable income.
- 📅 Repayment support — If a beneficiary struggles to repay the loan on time, monthly maiya Samman assistance of ₹2,500 can be used to adjust EMIs, ensuring that repayment does not become a financial burden.
- 🧾 Separate benefit for each eligible woman — If more than one woman in a family is enrolled under the scheme, each can receive up to ₹20,000 individually.
Currently, over
51 lakh women in jharkhand receive the
Maiya Samman Yojana monthly support, which has been increased to ₹2,500 per month to strengthen financial security.
