Bihar Police Bharti 2026: CSBC Announces Increase in Constable & Jail Warder Posts

The Central Selection Board of Constable (CSBC), Bihar, has revised the number of vacancies for the ongoing Bihar police recruitment drive, increasing the total number of constable and jail warder posts available for qualified candidates. This recruitment is part of the state’s efforts to strengthen its police force and provide more job opportunities for young aspirants.

📈 Revised Vacancy Count

Earlier, the bihar police Bharti notification (Advertisement No. 03/2025) listed 4,128 vacancies across various categories including Prohibition Constable, Jail Warder, and mobile Squad Constable. Recently, the CSBC announced an increase, bringing the total number of positions to 4,236.

The increase in vacancies includes additional posts for:

  • Jail Warder (Kakshpal) posts
  • Prohibition Constable
  • Mobile Squad Constable
These changes aim to fill more positions in key policing departments across the state.

🧑‍🎓 Who Can Apply?

Candidates interested in joining bihar police must meet essential eligibility criteria, typically including:

  • Minimum educational qualification of Intermediate (10+2) or equivalent from a recognized board.
  • Age limit and other requirements (such as physical standards) as defined in the official notification.
🗓️ Application and Selection Process

  • The online application process for the earlier vacancies began in October 2025 and closed in November 2025 for the main recruitment drive.
  • Selection typically involves a written exam, physical efficiency test (PET), and document verification.
For the new recruitment of 83 special cadre constables, online applications opened on February 6, 2026, and will continue until March 5, 2026.

Successful candidates will be appointed on posts within the Bihar police Department, with a pay scale that usually corresponds to Level‑2 or Level‑3 pay bands (e.g., ₹21,700–₹69,100 for many constable roles).
