Leader's park in Tamilnadu..?
The tamil Nadu government has been given three months to identify and remove idols from public sites and highways across the state. In Konur Kandikai village, Arakkonam taluk, Vellore district, the panchayat passed a decision to erect an Ambedkar statue on Maykal outlying property.
The judge stated that the government must adhere to the rules of law and supreme court judgements, and ordered the government to identify and remove monuments from public places, highways, government properties, public roads, and pastures throughout tamil Nadu within three months. He also ordered the government to establish precise guidelines for granting authorization to create statues and structures without jeopardising public rights.
The judge ordered the creation of a leader park in tamil Nadu and also ordered to maintain the leader's statues on the park's roads and public spaces. He also ordered that the cost of maintaining the statues be charged to those who were permitted to place them and that those who did not pay the cost be prosecuted. The judge accused political parties, religious, caste, and linguistic organisations of placing idols of their choosing, saying that while everyone has the right to place idols of leaders, idols should not be placed in public places.
The judge noted that the monuments had been attacked and that the law and order situation had been disrupted, and that events held on the leaders' birthdays and memorial days would have an impact on the public. Leaders who have made sacrifices for society should never be labelled as caste. They did not teach it, he stated in his order. The judge found that the statues were not well-maintained in many places, and that violence should not be permitted to erupt as a result of the damage and desecration of the monuments.
