Corona: Vaccines for over a crore teenagers ..!
Covid-19 cases have been steadily rising since the launch of Corona's new variant Omicron in the country. In india too, the number of positive cases has been on the rise for the past week. Central and state governments have stepped up their efforts to speed up the vaccination process. As part of this, it is known that the country has started a program to provide corona vaccine to children (under 15 to 18 years of age) from Monday.
As part of this, the vaccination process for teenagers across the country is progressing rapidly. As of noon on wednesday (January 5), more than a million teenagers across the country had received their first dose of the vaccine. According to the central government guidelines, only the covaxin vaccine is given to everyone in the 15-18 age group. More than one crore teenagers across the country were vaccinated with the first dose this afternoon, Union health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said.
Authorities are taking precautionary measures to prevent mistakes at vaccination centers. For this purpose, vaccinations for 15-18 year-olds have been set up. Specialized vaccination teams are being deployed in the field. The Center has issued directives to the States and Union Territories in this regard. Online registration for vaccinating children started on january 1, with 3.23 lakh young people between the ages of 15-18 registering on the first day.
You can also register at the designated vaccination centers from Monday. They will then be vaccinated there. In the first two days (April 28 and 29), about 2.28 crore registrations were registered when the government launched the covid vaccination for all those above 18 years of age. Although the number of children between the ages of 15-18 registered so far is small compared to adults, the gap in the number of the two groups is large. According to estimates by the Union Ministry of health and Family Welfare, 7.40 crore children aged 15-18 years are eligible for vaccination.
