Tourists who are dissatisfied with the exorbitant cost of cruising the cruiser island have asked a fare decrease. From Pamban to Thoothukudi, the gulf of Mannar is home to 21 islands. More than 2,000 unusual species of animals, including coral reefs, dolphins, and seagulls, call it home. The Forest Department created an eco-tourism programme for tourists to explore unique coral reefs, marine life, and mangrove forests on Kurusadai Island, Point Island, Single Island, and Boomerang Island, which are all close to Pamban Squat.

For this reason, two new fibreglass boats and a passenger boat were purchased in 2019. Pamban Kuntukal and Kurusadai Island also have boat landing spots. local boat fishermen in Pamban, on the other hand, were outraged by the initiative and conducted a series of protests. In addition, Hurricane Brewip in 2020 damaged two of these three boats' landings.

Later, the Forest Department organised a boat journey to explore the Karankadu nomadic forests near Thondi in the Ramanathapuram district and the sand dune built in the Mediterranean from the village of Pichai Mooppan Valasai near Ervadi, which drew a significant number of tourists. Following that, on march 11, the Eco Tour Boat Ride to Crucifixion Island was launched. The boat excursion will begin from the Pamban Kuntukkal Forest Dockyard and will continue to Kurusadai Island, where you will walk a kilometre to reach Kurusadai and view the unusual marine life, flora, and animals that have been returned to Kurusadai.
