One of the year's most eagerly awaited South Asian films was Agent, directed by akhil Akkineni. The film's release was repeatedly postponed, but it never managed to draw crowds to theatres. The film was well promoted, yet it was unable to pull viewers to the theatre. Anil Sunkara, the movie's producer, issued a heartfelt apology in response to Akhil's mother amala defending the actor when the film received negative reviews. In a recent open letter, akhil promised his followers that he will return stronger.


A heartfelt apology from akhil to his fans

Agent, which was published on april 28th, featured akhil akkineni as its lead. The movie saw a sharp fall within the first week of release and was quickly labelled a failure. akhil posted an open letter on twitter on May 15 following producer Anil Sunkara's apology for the movie's failure. He promised his followers that he would return stronger. To all of my loved ones and well-wishers, he wrote in his message. I want to express my sincere gratitude to the Agent cast and crew for giving their all to make our movie a reality. Despite our best efforts, the movie unfortunately didn't translate well to the screen and we weren't able to provide you a good movie.
