The purpose of the excise policy this time is to provide revenue to the state government for development, employment to the unemployed, farmers to provide a market for their produce as well as attract large scale investors.
Filling UP's treasury is a big objective
Sanjay Bhoosreddy, Additional Chief Secretary (Excise and sugar Industry) of Uttar Pradesh government said on saturday that the excise policy for the year 2022-23 has been issued.
The purpose of the excise policy this time is to provide revenue to the state government for development, employment to the unemployed, farmers to provide a market for their produce as well as attract large scale investors.
Increased liquor will be sold in the stateSanjay Bhoosreddy said that under the new excise policy, the price of liquor will not increase in the state.
Along with filling the treasury of the state, providing good quality liquor at reasonable rates to the customers is included in the policy of this time.
Wine will be available in glass bottles
Sanjay Bhoosreddy further said that, under the new policy, in the year 2022-23, the liquor manufactured in Uttar Pradesh will be supplied only in glass bottles instead of tetra packs.And if there is difficulty in getting the supply in glass bottles, then after taking permission from the Additional Chief Secretary Excise, it will be supplied in tetra packs.
The basic license fee will increase
In the Excise Policy 2022-23, the basic license fee of country liquor shops for 2021-22 has been increased by seven and a half per cent.Country liquor, foreign liquor, beer and cannabis retail shops and model shop will be renewed for the year 2022-23 and the processing fee of application for renewal has also been increased.

Additional Chief Secretary Sanjay Bhoosreddy said that till now the state has been a buyer of liquor and beer, but now it will be developed as a production state.Lucknow's dussehra mango can also be used better. Apart from this, beer will be made from wheat, barley. Beer will be produced at three places including Barabanki, Mirzapur. Initiatives have also been taken to make liquor from paddy, maize and potato in the state.
