Interesting Concidence: Band Baaja Baarat remake!
Aaha Kalyanam, the official remake of Bollywood Superhit film, Band Baaja Baarat is all set to have a grand premiere in Hyderabad on February 21st. The entire movie unit is expected to descend to the event and make it grand success.
Interestingly, the premiere of Jabardasth starring Siddharth and Samantha took place on February 21st, 2013. Jabardasth is the freemake of Band Baaja Baarat directed by Nandini Reddy. Yash Raj Films, the rights holders dragged Jabardasth producer, Bellamkonda Suresh to court over the issue.
Later it was settled out of the courts. However YRF decided to go ahead with the remake and now Aaha Kalyanam is here. They feel since Jabardasth is an utter flop it will have no affect in Aaha Kalyanam. Also they managed to stop the TV premiere and DVD release of Jabardasth.
It is a coincidence that Aaha Kalyanam is having premiere on the same day as Jabardasth (one year ago). The movie is releasing in Telugu and Tamil on February 22nd. This is Yash Raj Films' maiden production venture down the South.
