Shruti Haasan - VJS movie to release on September 9th!
On september 9, the film Laabam, starring vijay sethupathi and shruti Haasan, will be released in theatres and in this film, vijay sethupathi and shruti share the screen for the first time. The movie Laabam will compete with kangana ranaut and Arvind Swami's Thalaivi, which will be released on september 10th as Vinayagar Chaturthi treat.
SP Jhananathan, who died in march of this year after suffering a heart arrest, directed Laabam as his final movie, and he won a National Award in 2004 for Best Feature Film category for his movie Iyarkai. Laabam is a drama about social issues and in this movie, vijay sethupathi is a social activist who is fighting against the exploitation of a capitalist, who is represented by actor Jagapathy Babu.
Earlier in the month of august last year, the trailer for the film was released, and already the songs 'Yaamili Yaamiliya' and 'Yaazha Yaazha' were released and ended as chartbusters. The film's trailer was unabashedly political and it has been crafted as a battle between a rich capitalist and the working class by Jhananathan, who believed in communist ideals and values. The movie is getting a theatrical release as a tribute to the late director SP Jananathan and this is the first biggie post the second wave.
