The OTT release of Nani's film tuck jagadish sparked a stir as tuck jagadish and Nani's producers have been chastised by the telangana State Film Theatres Association (TSFTA) for screening the film on an OTT platform. After the Active telugu Film Producers Guild (ATFPG) blasted them for the statement, they apologized profusely and the issue went out of proportion.
Because the creators of tuck jagadish chose an OTT release, film distributors had a meeting a few days earlier and threatened to stop Nani's films from being released in theatres and nani broke his quiet during a pre-launch event, saying, "A few people have said they'll ban my forthcoming films from theatres and I understand their circumstances and believe they are responding appropriately. However, if any of my planned projects do not have a theatrical release, I will cease to produce films and I guarantee it.”
Nani is a huge fan of the big screen and has declared on multiple occasions that going to the movies will always be his first choice and he was also apprehensive about releasing tuck jagadish on the OTT platform, but the choice was made due to the film's protracted delay due to Coronavirus. On september 10, tuck jagadish will be released on the amazon Video OTT platform in time for the Vinayakar Chaturthi festival.
