Over censorship concerns, some Middle Eastern countries, including saudi arabia and Qatar, have banned Marvel's latest movie Eternals. Eternals' Thena aka Angelina Jolie reacted to the restriction by expressing her displeasure with it and thanking Marvel for not suppressing lesbian scenes despite the ban. For the uninitiated, Deadline previously reported that censorship has prevented Eternals from receiving a theatrical premiere in saudi arabia and Oman.
According to the allegation, Disney refused to modify the film's scenes of closeness between LGBTQ+ characters. The same-sex kiss scene may not have been the only reason for the film's suspension in these nations, according to Deadline, as the film may also have been banned due to difficulties with fictitious depictions of deities and prophets.
In a recent interview, the actress expressed her displeasure with the prohibition, saying that she is "sorry" for the viewers that wished to see the film in certain locations. Jolie said she is "proud" of Marvel for refusing to edit the LGBT sequences despite requests from countries, and that she is "proud" of the series for doing so. “I still don't believe how we live in a society today where there are still [those] who wouldn't see the family Phastos has and the delicacy of that bond and that loooove,” Angelina Jolie said of the banning.
