I am a Pakka Hyderabadi, Size doesn't matter says Ritu Varma

SIBY JEYYA
Please do not even keep me awake if you ever discover me daydreaming.' That may be Telugu-Tamil actress Ritu Varma's T-shirt graffiti, but his dreams and fantasies appear to be coming true. She has 3 telugu movies released in the year, 2 on OTT (Ninnila Ninnila and Tuck Jagadish), and one in theatres (Varudu Kaavalenu) in November. Another film with celebrity vikram is the tamil language spy thriller Dhruva Natchathiram. For the time being, though, her motto is "sleep well, reach for the stars."

Varma, 31, has been on the big screen for 6 years, starring alongside vijay deverakonda in Tharun Bhascker's telugu hit pelli choopulu in 2016. The movie won two National Film Awards for Best telugu Film and Best Screenplay, two Filmfare Trophies, and three SIIMA Awards, grossing 30 times its budget. Her reputation as a powerful, inspiring woman stems from her position as an openly ambitious young lady who expresses her ambitions to her potential spouse.

"I set the tone by portraying a young woman who dreams up a food truck business in the city. "I am fortunate to have inspiring, yet realistic role models in my films," says the 'pakka' Hyderabadi, a North indian girl born in Hyderabad. In Tuck Jagadish, she played Varalakshmi, a mandal revenue officer who fights the gov't's bad guys. Bhoomi is an eco-friendly startup entrepreneur in Varudu Kavalenu.

"I may well be an unintentional actor who stumbled into filmmaking with my friends' short film Anukokunda." However, I have taken the commonsense approach of taking on positions that inspire me personally. "It appears to have paid off," varma says. In tamil film Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal, she portrayed a con artist posing as a cosmetologist alongside Dulquer Salman.
