PUSHPA THE RISE is Filled with Flaws - Noticed these?

SIBY JEYYA
Pushparaju is a low-wage laborer with great ambitions and a can-do attitude. The film follows Pushpa's development from a coolie to a red sandalwood syndicate boss, set against the backdrop of the Seshachalam jungle. The film begins with a voiceover detailing the international demand for red sandalwood, which is depicted through graphics in an innovative reverse flow from a Japanese consumer to the Seshachalam forest, from which it is smuggled via chennai and China.

Pushpa's first appearance in the group as a coolie is simple and genuine. Throughout the first half, Pushpa's character is depicted as a realistically greedy young man who aspires to attain the next level of success with only his guts and foresight. The rustic Chittor Forest village setting, inhabitants, and dialect are all well-done. For the most part, filmmaker sukumar kept the story understated and avoided over-the-top heroism.

However, it is on the verge of becoming a flat tale. The film also suffers from a lack of a compelling antagonist. The antagonists were played by ajay Ghosh, Suneel, and Rao Ramesh, and there isn't much antagonism here to inspire gritty action scenes of any kind. The heroine Raskmika's portrayal as a typical village girl in a deglamorized role is unremarkable.
