PUSHPA THE RISE - Director Sukumar Touch Missing?

SIBY JEYYA
Any audience anticipating an action episode will be sorely disappointed, given the smuggling background and the anticipation built around the lavish budget. Suneel is the leader of the red sandalwood syndicate - a bad casting choice and the reddy brothers have nothing to offer in terms of villainy. Samantha's item is a commercial jingle.

The songs Dakko Dakko Meka, Chupe Bangaramaayene, and Oo Antava are in the first part, while the superhit audio Saamy is in the second. Pushpa's attempt to gain his lady love, his embarrassment over the circumstances of his birth, and the minister's attempt to deescalate the schism within the smuggling syndicate are all shown in the second half. pushpa, as planned, rises to the top of the smuggling network.

Sukumar introduces Shekhawat (Fahaad Faazil) as a new police officer and provides the audience with 30 minutes of filler scenes culminating with pushpa preaching to Shekawat when everything appears to be going well for pushpa both professionally and romantically. With the exception of sticking to the rural backdrop, Sukumar's mark direction is an obvious miss. The cinematography is adequate, but DSP's background score and poor sound design are the biggest letdowns. Perhaps the audiography crew was unable to complete the rerecording process due to a lack of time. The majority of the movie appears to have made use of the Spot Dubbing technique. The visual effects are also not up to par.
