Delhi Shuts Theatres: Impact on RRR?
Delhi government has shut it theatres and film analysts are worried about its impact on RRR.
Delhi government has issued an order to shut theatres as a measure for the spreading Omicron scare. This has been asked to consider seriously and there’s not an end date mentioned in the order which makes it an indefinite close. Though this is a safety measure to Omicron, this will have a huge impact on the number of Big films lined up for release.
The biggest impact is expected to be on rrr which is touted to be true “Pan Indian” film. rrr producers have almost begged to several other competitors to postpone their release so they could recover their cost by having long and extended run. Being so, this Omicron scare has wrecked havoc in their plans. Already Omicron has its first victim with jersey hindi version which was scheduled for release this week has been postponed.
We have learnt that certain big producers have convened together to discuss the fate of rrr and Radhe Shyam. It will be interesting to see how they act on this, whether they go forward with the release or will they be postponing the release again.
