With his gritty performance in Sukumar's Pushpa: The Rise,
allu arjun earned many hearts. But not many realise that the mastermind behind converting
allu arjun into
pushpa Raj is accomplished artist Preetisheel Singh D’Souza. "There aren't enough words to convey his passion to his roles," the prosthetic look designer remarked of her time working with the
telugu superstar.
Allu
arjun had to go through a lengthy
makeup and prosthetics session in order to look credible as
pushpa Raj. From getting the eyelashes right to the natural curls to the perfect physical appearance, the look took a great deal effort. "This was my first encounter in South, and it was quite an unusual and surreal one," she said of being a participant of the
pushpa voyage.
allu arjun would sit in the chair for around an hour and a half on average, and it could go up to two hours if we had to apply full-body make-up."
"My extensive experience with him has been fantastic," she continued. He's a complete showman. He immerses himself in his role to the point where you don't want to
watch anything else once he appears on screen. I
believe he has the ability to dominate the entire frame. His patience with cosmetics, in addition to his passion to his characters, is admirable. When you're in sync with the actor on multiple levels, it makes the technician's
job a lot easier."
