'The Batman' Release Halted in Russia due to War
The escalating conflict between russia and ukraine has alarmed the international community. In the midst of this, Warner Bros. has opted to postpone the release of The Batman in russia, just times before it was scheduled to hit theatres. Following Vladimir Putin's invasion of ukraine, hollywood decided to suspend production plans in the country. Soon after, Walt Disney Co. and sony Pictures announced that they would halt their film releases in Russia. Each studio has forthcoming titles that were supposed to be released in the next weeks around the world.
The Batman will be released in North America and several international markets on march 4th. This encompassed russia as well. "In consideration of the humanitarian disaster in Ukrainne, WarnerMedia is suspending the distribution of its feature picture The Batman in russia," a studio spokeswoman stated in a statement. The Batman, directed by Matt Reeves, is a relaunch of the Batman cinematic universe.
