The Batman Opening Weekend Box Office Is DC's Highest
Since 2016's Suicide Squad, The Batman has had the biggest opening weekend ticket sales for a DC film. Due to the COVID-19 epidemic, the Batman was originally slated to be released in theatres on june 25th, 2021, but was moved back to a new schedule on october 1st, 2021. It was apparently decided for a cinematic release on march 4th, 2022. The Batman, unlike the rest of the Warner Bros. slate from last year, did not obtain a day-and-date distribution, instead choosing for an exclusive cinema release and a premiere on HBO Max on april 19th, 2022.
This choice to return to a theatrical distribution format that is exclusive to theatres appears to have paid off.
