Turning Red: Why 4*Town's Songs Are Really So Good

The resident boy band 4*Town won the hearts of Mei and her friends, as well as the eyes and ears of Turning red viewers, with their original songs. Domee Shi's feature directorial debut, Turning red, follows Meilin "Mei" Lee (Rosalie Chiang) as she grows up and data-faces a generational curse. Mei begins to explore new aspects of herself as a teenager, all the while maintaining her obsession with the world-famous boy band 4*Town.

4*Town, narrated by jordan Fisher, Finneas O'Connell, josh Levi, Topher Ngo, and Grayson Villanueva, is pivotal in Mei's adolescent transition. She strengthens her bonds with her best pals Abby (Hyein Park), Miriam (Ava Morse), and priya through the boy band (Maitreyi Ramakrishnan). On the other hand, because Mei (Sandra Oh) is aware that her mother disapproves of her conservative values, 4*Town unwittingly pushes her away from them. The talent and allure of 4*Town pave Mei's way to maturity, allowing her to make her own choices and stand up for what she believes in.

Turning red, released in 2002, comprises original songs sung by 4*Town, a hit-making group. Billie Eilish and Finneas O'Connell wrote their tunes, which is interesting. The Grammy Award-winning siblings wrote "U Know What'z Up," "1 True Fonndness," and "Noboddy Like U," songs that displayed their musical prowess and personal love for boy bands.
