Jersey was originally released to compete with KGF2. It was later announced that jersey would be postponed by a week in anticipation of kgf 2. T Films like vikram Veda and Thiruttupayale 2 are currently being remade in Bollywood. Apart from this, the national award-winning movie jersey starring nani in telugu is currently being remade in hindi under the same name. The film, starring shahid kapoor, was released on april 22.
Despite the positive reviews that the film did not do well in hindi as well as in telugu, the film has taken a fatal drop at the box office. This is due to the film kgf 2. More than 10 days after the release of this film, the mood for it has not abated. Especially in hindi, the film is running a collection kingdom.
The kgf 2 film is said to have grossed over Rs 300 crore in hindi alone so far. It was later announced that the jersey film would be released a week later in anticipation of the KGF2 film. Currently, the KGF2 movie is making them wonder if it could have been released a week later.
Shahid Kapoor had earlier acted in a remake of the hit telugu film arjun Reddy. The film was released in hindi and grossed over Rs 400 crore. Thus, the film crew was left disappointed as they waited for the jersey film to do the same. The film grossed only Rs 4 crore on its opening day and was a death knell at the box office.
