YRF has a Strong line up in Bollywood

G GOWTHAM
Our analysis shows that 14 of the 29 movies that were released from 2012 onwards fell into the "disaster," "flop," or "below average" categories, but YRF also released five blockbusters: "War" (ironically released on mahatma Gandhi's 150th birth anniversary in 2019; Rs 292 crore); "Tiger Zinda Hai" (2017; Rs 339 crore); "Sultan" (2016; Rs 301 crore); "Dhoom 3" (2013 (2012; Rs 186 crore). All of the earnings mentioned above are net collections from box office India, not adjusted for inflation.

However, the fact that it hasn't had a hit since "War" should worry YRF. The final passably successful movie before its terrible post-Covid run was "Mardaani 2," a low-budget movie with a recognisable cast and starring rani Mukherjee. aditya chopra must be feeling nostalgic over the banner's enormously successful era between 1993 and 2000 thanks to the films "Darr," "Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge," "Dil To Pagal Hai," and "Mohabbatein" (2000).

Of these, of course, the iconic SRK-Kajol star vehicle "DDLJ" has generated an inflation-adjusted net collection of Rs 461.33 crore, placing it as the fourth highest-earning hindi film of all time behind "Hum Aapke Hain Koun," "Baahubali 2: The Conclusion," and "Gadar: Ek prem Katha." With "Darr" and "DDLJ," SRK is credited with turning around yash Chopra's fortunes. Will his sorcery once more work for the banner that says "Pathaan"? We'll have to wait until january 25, 2023 to learn the solution.
