Kanthamaneni Umamaheshwari, the daughter of late
telugu desam party founder and iconic actor N. T. Rama Rao, the former
chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, allegedly committed suicide on
monday at her
jubilee hills home. According to reports, Uma Maheshwari had
health concerns and had been receiving therapy for a while.
She was apparently discovered hanging from her bedroom's ceiling fan on Monday. The body was moved by the
jubilee hills police for an autopsy while a case was being opened. The other three daughters of elder
ntr were Lokeshwari, Purandeshwari, and Bhuvaneshwari; Umamaheshwari was the fourth and youngest of them. The
ntr family members were devastated by her untimely death, and they all hurried to her
jubilee hills home. N Chandrababu Naidu, the TDP's president and her brother-in-law, arrived to her
home with his family from Hyderabad. Her children who were living overseas were informed of the tragic news.
Initially in a
love union with
kerala industrialist Naren Rajan, Umamaheshwari eventually filed for divorce because of rumours that he was tormenting her. Later, she moved abroad after getting married to Kanthamaneni Srinivasa Prasad. A few years ago, she made her way back to Hyderabad. Umamaheshwari owned the
house on
banjara hills Road No. 13. In
january 1996, her
father ntr passed away from a
heart attack in this location. Later, Nandamuri Lakshmiparvathi, NTR's second wife, stayed there for a long time before NTR's sons made her leave. Later, the
house was donated for development of a
business endeavour.
