Letter To Producers: 'Let Us Keep Our Egos Aside'
I opposed the strike from the start, but I agreed after hearing that it would be good for the producers and the industry. To support the cause, I halted my shoots in progress, and together with other members, I suffered significant losses. Approximately 10 days have passed since the strike started, and I still lack knowledge of the problems that my fellow members of the business have brought up.
What follows is my perspective on the topics raised by the members.
With the greatest of intentions to provide the audience with a fantastic product, producers select screenplays. The producer may also decide to raise budgets in accordance with the plot and the market for the Hero. The producers are more impacted by ticket prices than exhibitors, who are less affected by them. The price increases are not being made by the exhibitors. Flexi ticket pricing is under the producers' control, as it ought to be. What more are we trying to convey about this now that we're on strike?
