The rights to remake a number of hugely successful and well-regarded South Asian films have been purchased during the past several years by a number of hotshot bollywood film stars and directors. One of the primary causes for hindi filmmakers' reliance on South remakes is reportedly a lack of original scripts with a minimum guarantee.
After Bachchan Pandey, Samrat Prithviraj, and Rakshabandhan, popular bollywood actor akshay kumar has just released Cuttputlli, his fourth flop of 2022. On Friday, the movie had a straight over-the-top distribution on the well-known streaming service Disney Hotstar. Critics, however, have all given the film unimpressive ratings.

Moviegoers who have seen both versions agree that the remake of Cuttputlli damaged one of the best indian thrillers since the original story was lost in translation.
