According to the chronology of events in Andhra Pradesh, the chief minister, Y S jagan Mohan Reddy, has failed to take control of the government even after three years in office. Even if there are numerous media representatives working for the administration, the yellow media cannot even get in touch with it. The government has lost the backing of even the national media and neutral media because it keeps all media at a distance in the guise of "yellow media."
Why are the leaders of the government unavailable to the media and difficult to reach when it comes to informing the populace? A minister or a top official in the state can be difficult for a journalist to contact in order to get information. The main news sources for journalists who report about government activity have been department heads or senior bureaucrats. Regrettably, under Jagan's leadership, these personnel are not approachable or attainable.
The heads of government, however, run to the media with a reply and all the facts anytime the yellow media produces a negative story! Why authorities or government leaders would wait for the yellow media to publish a bad report is a puzzling question given that the sakshi media already has a dedicated segment to fight the yellow media. Under Jagan's administration, journalists from the sakshi group are the only ones who can be found in the halls of power. Surprisingly, certain ministers, MLAs, MLCs, spokespersons, and bureaucrats meet in private with the journalists from the yellow media and provide them with a wealth of information.
