The
mumbai Airport Customs sleuths stopped
bollywood megastar Shah Rukh Khan in his tracks on
saturday for possessing a number of pricey watches and other expensive devices, according to officials. The Customs Department detained Khan and other passengers with him on their
journey from
sharjah to
mumbai because they had an
apple Watch and six other expensive electronic devices in their luggage.
After the
air Intelligence Unit at the Chhatrpati
shivaji Maharaj
international Airport (CSMIA) screened their bags, the expensive items, estimated to be worth Rs 17.85 lakh, were found after a comprehensive examination. Based on this assessment, the Customs assessed the actor and his colleagues a duty of Rs 6.83 lakh, or around 38.5 percent, and they were permitted to go this afternoon. Khan had travelled to
sharjah to attend the
sharjah international Book Fair 2022 when the private jet from
sharjah landed at CSMIA at 12.50 a.m. He received the "Global Icon of
cinema & Cultural Narrative Award" on
friday in recognition of his contributions to global cinema.
Actor Shah Rukh Khan and those travelling with him were detained by the Customs Department at
mumbai Airport for several hours last night due to several expensive watches they had in their luggage. According to sources, he had to pay a customs duty of 6.83 lakh before being permitted to depart the airport. The

mumbai international Airport's Terminal 3 after attending an
event in Sharjah.
