Same Story, Two Films - Dhamaka & Vishwak’s Dhamki

SIBY JEYYA
Recently, the long-awaited "Dhamaka" trailer, starring mass Raja Raviteja, was made public. When comparing the movie to Vishwaksen's "Dhamki," whose trailer debuted a few weeks ago, one can immediately see how many similarities there are. Even though the similarity of the titles makes one wonder how this could have happened, there is an intriguing discovery here.

According to reports, Vishwaksen plays two characters in the movie Dhamki: one is a wealthy man, while the other is a straightforward man from a lower middle class. The other man appears to be naive, whereas the rich man is haughty. In this scene from the movie Dhamaka, Raviteja plays both a rich and a poor man, but both of them seem like fireworks. For those who noticed, it comes as a major shock that only prasanna Kumar Bezawada wrote the stories for these two films.

It appears that the basic plot lines and characterization of both Dhamki and Dhamaka are essentially the same, but with a few minor differences. One wonders if the author created two distinct draughts of the same concept and sold them to various producers, directors, and heroes. Of course, the producers of these films may claim that, aside from the double-role issue, the rest is very different, but to viewers, it doesn't seem that way.
