A film that qualifies as a tearjerker hasn't been released in a long. Even little tissue packs were distributed to viewers at the film's premiere. Spoiler Alert definitely provides without being forced in that regard. The 2017 biography Spoiler Alert: The hero Dies by Michael Ausiello served as the basis for the movie, which was directed by Michael Showalter and written by David Marshall Grant and Dan Savage. Spoiler Alert is quite a pleasant film, full of heartwarming moments, lots of humour, and strong cast work.
The Big Bang Theory's Jim Parsons, Michael Ausiello, is a New York-based entertainment journalist. Michael is persuaded to go out to a bar where he meets and clicks with photographer Kit Cowan (Ben Aldridge), who is engrossed in his work, which includes watching hours of television and occasionally writing about Fear Factor. Soon, they start seeing one other frequently, and over the course of several years, Michael and Kit's connection gets stronger. But when Kit is given a fatal cancer diagnosis after 14 years of dating and a few hiccups in the road, everything changes.
Spoiler Alert is at ease in the niche it has carved out for itself because it is fully aware of the kind of movie it is. This is solace, and the movie has just the proper mix of heart and humour, which are rare in modern romance movies. While Spoiler Alert is based on Ausiello's real-life relationship with his deceased husband, it uses some cliches without ever becoming overly cliché. Showalter, as a director, has a strong understanding of the movie's subject matter and emotional core. As a result, the audience is treated to a well-paced, touching tale that is enhanced by the performances of its main and supporting players.
