Amid huge anticipation among Vijay-Ajith fans, the third-day collections of 'Varisu' and 'Thunivu' released on the eve of the pongal festival have proved who is the box office king. The third-day collections of Thunivu and Varisu are out and it has proved who is the box office king. Thalapathy Vijay's 'Varisu' and ajith kumar starrer 'Thunivu' released on the same day on 11th january has created a huge clash between fans from both sides in the tamil industry.
 There is a competition among the fans as to who is number 1. While Ajith's 'Thunivu' has been slightly superior at the box office for the last two days, the information about the collection on the third day has also been released. In foreign countries alone, Thunivu has collected between 9 crores and 10 crores so far.
Varisu is said to have collected 8 to 9 crores. The movie Thunivu is getting better reception internationally. In North America in particular, Ajith's 'Thunivu' has been the top grosser.
In tamil Nadu too, Thunivu has collected Rs 43 crore in three days, followed by Varisu with Rs 40 crore. Both films have been receiving mixed reviews. theater owners have said that both films will get good collections as the holidays are coming.
