Superman's demise during the events of the upcoming DC Universe film is heavily implied in The Flash's first official trailer. The Flash, one of the most significant DC films in recent memory, may serve as a bridge between the present franchise and DC Studios' upcoming DC Universe in addition to being the most recent installment of the DCEU that started with Man of Steel. The DCEU characters that viewers have watched since 2013 may say goodbye with The Flash as Superman is relaunched on the big screen in 2025's Superman: Legacy.
In fact, the teaser for The Flash makes it clear that the upcoming DC Universe movie will revisit at least one significant DCEU event, namely General Zod's invasion in Man of Steel. However, Henry Cavill's Superman isn't present in the The Flash trailer, even though Michael Shannon returns to the role of General Zod. The Flash's teaser confirms that Barry Allen (Ezra Miller) would attempt to save his mother by travelling back in time despite what Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) suggested, just like in the Flashpoint comic. Barry establishes a "world without metahumans," making it appear as though Flash will soon regret his choice, similar to the Flashpoint reboot.
Oddly, the moment Flash states this "world without metahumans," the trailer for The Flash cuts to a worn-out Superman suit. That line that was put to Superman's cape implies that in the universe that Flash created, Superman's death has already occurred (presumably at a young age), and has never been the source of any superheroes' inspiration.
