Modern Presentation of Ramayana - Will People Accept ?

S Venkateshwari
On june 16th, Prabhas' legendary epic, Adipurush, will be released. A short while ago, the movie's trailer was released, and the promotional campaign has since begun. The struggle between ram, Sita, and the vehicle is established in the trailer's opening scene. There are several action shots, and the battle scenes starring Vanara Sena are well-known and entertaining.
The Ramayan's Yuddhakanda is highlighted in the trailer. ram is depicted as a warrior in this section. Prabhas' portrayal of ram in the teaser is thus shown as being violent. Rama is typically portrayed in movies as having a calm and collected demeanor, therefore this is one of the tonal adjustments that have been made in the movie. We must wait and watch how the Telugu-speaking audience would react to the move. Prabhas' appearance as Lord ram deviates from the norm. But this fits with Ram's reputation as a military king. Prabhas' singing performances will be discussed.
There are some improvements in terms of graphics here. This is the kind of movie that benefits from being seen on a large screen. When the movie hits theatres next month, this will serve as its USP. Still, there are some animated touches. Ravan's appearance in the teaser sparked criticism since some saw an Islamic influence in it. In the caravan, the same has been altered with great care. If it will be the same in the movie as well is unknown.
Together with the images, the BGM and the song jai Shri ram improve the song's overall mood. The action shots work well as well. Compared to earlier television and film adaptations of the Ramayana, this one has a far larger budget, more impressive special effects, and a more expansive setting. That will therefore be Adipurush's main benefit. Sky is the limit for Adipurush, the Prabhas-starring film, if it can capture the present Hindutva atmosphere.
